16-year-old accused of attempted murder of teen in ravine

| Oct 14, 2020 | Felony Charges

It’s always a shock when it’s a juvenile who is accused of a serious crime like a murder. At that age, they are not necessarily as mature as an adult, and they may be impulsive in ways that adults are not. Mental illnesses, outside influences and other factors can lead to incidents that could change a child’s life forever.

In news out of Minneapolis, there are reports that a 16-year-old male has been arrested on accusations of attempted murder. The teen and his attorney have not spoken out about the accusations, but they have to be taken seriously. According to the story, a 13-year-old boy was discovered in a ravine close to Miners Lake.

The younger teen received treatment at the scene after he was found by a hiker in the area. The boy had to be airlifted to Essential Health St. Mary’s for medical care, but he was reportedly in stable condition. The child let the responders know that he had been assaulted, but there was mention that he was confused. The report mentioned that he did have multiple stab wounds.

The 16-year-old male accused of the attempted murder is currently being held at the Arrowhead Juvenile Center, but it’s not clear how he is linked to the other minor. The situation is still under investigation.

A case like this is a good example of why it’s important to have an attorney on your side early in a case. If your child is accused of committing a serious crime, an attorney can take steps to minimize your child’s exposure to the media and the impact of the case. Accusations are not the same as a conviction, and it’s vital to protect your child’s rights.
