Man charged with killing mother despite claims of neo-Nazi gang

One Minnesota man is facing murder charges after being accused of killing his mother and then attempting to blame it on a gang of Neo-Nazis. The 25-year-old man from Milaca allegedly stabbed his mother in the family home on March 11, 2018, and then told another man that he found his mother dead in the bedroom. After the other man called the police to report the murder, the 25-year-old claimed that four or five Neo-Nazis had invaded the home and attacked his mother before running into the nearby woods. He claimed that he saw one of the men carrying a double-barreled shotgun.

When the 25-year-old man was picked up by police at the home, he had blood on his clothing. They found the body of the 59-year-old woman in the bedroom, and her death had apparently been caused by blunt force injuries as well as the stabbing. He initially claimed that these injuries were caused by the mysterious gang that he claimed had invaded the home, referring to them as Neo-Nazis.

After the man was arrested and placed in the Mille Lacs County Jail, police say that he then admitted to punching his mother, hitting her over the head and stabbing her. Police say that this happened after the two had an argument after returning to the home from a nearby liquor store.

The 25-year-old man is facing charges of murder and intentional murder, both in the second degree. He could receive a sentence of up to 40 years in prison. He is being held on $300,000 unconditional and $100,000 conditional bail.

People who are accused of violent crimes, including attempted homicide, have a right to defend themselves in court. A criminal defense lawyer can help individuals who have been accused of murder reject inaccurate or falsified evidence or the results of improper police activity or behavior and present a strong, vigorous defense against the allegations.
